5 Fun Places To Go While Your Kids Are Out of School in Acadiana

5 Fun Places To Go While Your Kids Are Out of School in Acadiana

July 3, 2018

School’s out for the summer! Your kids are home and the inevitable “I’m boreddddd” phrase is coming up a little too often. There are tons of fun activities to do around the house (I mean come on kiddos, use that creativity!), but summer is also a good time for getting out and going on an adventure. If you’re looking for a change from the local pool or parks, here are five local businesses in Acadiana with activities your kids are sure to love:

  1. If there’s one thing your kids always have a ton of, it’s energy. At Fun Nation, excess energy is no problemo. This place has roller skating, a huge indoor playground, and a large arcade. It’s the perfect place for kids to have a blast this summer, and also a good pick for summer birthday parties. Need the kids out of the house a little longer? Sign them up for Fun Nation’s summer camp for ages five and up.

  2. Kids love food just as much as the rest of us. For a good meal AND a means of entertaining the young ones, try Cajun Food Tours in Lafayette. You’ll learn about the history and culture of Cajun food, and of course, you’ll get to taste it. P.S – Children under 12 can attend at a discounted price! Book your spot today.

  3. Kids tired of playing the same three card games over and over? Find a new game (or 10!) at Anubis Game and Hobby. You’ll discover tons of unique board games, video games, and all things “nerd.” Your kids can pick out games to purchase, or come to one of their tournaments, workshops, or other events.

  4. Help your child pick up a new skill during all of their free time this summer. At Gladiators Academy, kids from ages four and up can take martial arts classes where they’ll learn focus, respect, goal setting, and more. Martial arts is a full body workout, which means your kids will get fit and healthy.

  5. Keep your children happy and keep them cool during this hot and humid summer. Planet Ice Hockey and Skating Rink gives ice skating lessons and holds public skating hours equaling TONS of family fun. It’s also a solid option for summer birthday parties.
