Those summer nights. Sometimes it’s hard to make plans that help keep the spark alive. Many of us find ourselves in the same routine, over and over and over again. If you’re setting aside time just for one another, you may appreciate some fresh ideas.
Here’s a short list of ideas of where to spend your next date night in Waco – let us know if it helps?
Did you know?! Waco’s first and only vineyard exists! It’s called Waco Winery and Vineyards. Locally-owned and operated, it’s located off of Highway 6 and is available for weekend events and tours. Its owners envisioned a spot where patrons could visit a little closer to home, opening the Waco Winery Tasting Room & Rooftop Patio. According to online reviews, the Tasting Room is a hit among patrons, enjoying the cozy venue for a night to unwind and relax. The Tasting Room features Texas wines, local art, and live music on the patio, Friday and Saturday nights from 8-11pm with misters in the summer, heaters in the winter. Might be room for a little dancing, if you’re up for it.
Two of the most exciting things going on in downtown Waco are at the Waco Hippodrome! With the expansion of the Hippodrome, locals are able to visit The Raleigh, a street-level restaurant, and, soon, The Hightop, the Hippo’s very own patio and bar boasting some of the best views of Austin Avenue, Magnolia, and Baylor’s pretty spires. The Hightop opens Thursday, July 5th and will feature a special menu and space for live music + entertainment. The Raleigh has a diner-style vibe, a subtle hop back in time. The restaurant was named after a hotel that used to be across the street until it closed in the 1980s. Take your love to the next level with a lingering evening at one of these new places, designed for your enjoyment.
The Backyard Bar, Stage, and Grill might be exactly what you’re looking for if you need one place with many options. At The Backyard, you and yours can catch a concert, sit around a fire pit or their cascading fountain. There are games aplenty to keep your date entertained: washer pits, cornhole pits, and outdoor billiards! With a 40-foot screen outside, a full restaurant and bar, frozen drink station, you may never leave! A happy note for some: guests are also free to bring their pets 🙂 Like, animal-pet, along with your “pet” (or “boo” or “darling”). The Backyard is going to be a lively way to break up the monotony of the week AND catch a break and relax!
So, grab your significant other (or a friend!) to enjoy these three locales. Don’t forget to check out Towny for some special perks to bring along with you. (Take a peek!)
