Buzzard Billy’s blazed a Cajun-Creole American food-trail straight through this town! They’ve got wings, fried dinners, something for everyone. And then, options like “Gator Fingers” for the adventurebuds among us. If the temps are right, enjoy the many views from the porch: the Brazos River, Baylor’s McLane Stadium, and the LED-lit bridges. If the heat doesn’t kill you, the crawfish’ll make you stronger.
Haliburton’s Soul Food serves up family-oriented comfort food that’ll give you the warm fuzzies: oxtails, chitterlings, chicken & dressing, beef tips over rice, and meatloaf, to name a few. To say this place “has been seasoned well” is an understatement. Each plate comes with two sides. Hot diggity dog.
Dubl R Old-Fashioned Burgers has a drive-thru available so if you need your grill-top Dubl-Dubl burger on the go, come and take it. (This place has a reputation as a go-to hot spot in town but don’t worry if there’s a bustle – service is quick. And tasty.) Dine in, take-out, or call in. (How cute is that?!) Just get there!
If the name Captain Billy Whizzbang’s causes you to burger-burn with curiosity, head that way + try his signature, the Whizz-Pigg burger. Got the meat sweats? Maybe not. They’ve got sides like onion rings, fried pickles, sweet potato fries, Cajun chips, and, yes, fried jalapeños. Hoo boy!
